The Fono DJ booth was part of the innovative program to upgrade some of Hertsmere’s parks to help engage more people to get outside, socialise and be more active.
The Fono is a welcome addition to the urban play and sports area at Aberford Park and is situated opposite a skate park. Often skate parks only appeal to quite a specific and small demographic, but nevertheless provide an important meeting point. However the Fono increases the appeal to a wider demographic by using music to create a unique meeting space.

The Fono DJ booth allows visitors to use their own smart phones, with their own playlists to not only play their own music but also try their hand at DJ’ing, often only available to those who can afford the sophisticated technology.
