Bid Writer & Coordinator

Job Overview:

The Bid Writer will be responsible for researching new tender opportunities and preparing and writing high quality, persuasive, and tailored proposals, and tender documents to secure new contracts and business opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential business opportunities and tenders.
  • Manage the administration of PQQ, frameworks and tenders.
  • Manage the bid process from start to finish, ensuring all deadlines are met and documentation is submitted in the correct format.
  • Conduct thorough research to gather relevant information and insights for each bid, including understanding client needs and market conditions.
  • Work closely with internal teams to gather relevant information, project timelines, and cost estimates and develop winning strategies.
  • Develop, and write detailed and persuasive bids, proposals, and tender documents for the design and installation of playground projects.
  • Proofread and edit documents for clarity, accuracy, and impact, ensuring a high standard of presentation.
  • Ensure ongoing scrutiny of submitted answers, identifying areas for improvement, and reporting to relevant departments on process changes
  • Develop and maintain a tender collateral library of standard content, templates, and case studies to streamline the bid writing process.
  • Produce a range of bid-winning and client-facing collateral, presentations, and proposal documents for the sales team.
  • Conduct research on potential clients, competitors, and market trends to inform bid strategies and improve win rates.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bid writing, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.

Skills:

  • Proven experience as a bid writer, proposal writing, or a similar role 1+ years
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational and time management abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of bid management software is a plus.
  • Enthusiasm, a strong team ethic and willingness to be flexible and help out team members when required.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to produce innovative proposals.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to understand and interpret complex information.
  • Self-motivated and proactive in identifying opportunities and solutions.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Degree in Business, Communications, English, or a related field.

Working hours

This role offers the flexibility of home working with occasional office visits. We welcome part-time hours.

Contracts Manager – Play Industry

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our contracts and aftersales team focused on delivering play spaces that create a sense of wonder and providing a quality aftersales experience . This role is varied and will involve collaboration with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams, to ensure successful project execution, compliance with industry standards and, adherence to quality standards.

Role duties include:

Project management:

  • Maintain awareness and knowledge of the status of all active projects.
  • Project management of large or complex installations, making sure regular liaison with customers and subcontractors.
  • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure alignment with contractual obligations.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance and maintain a league table, rating and reviewing each project.
  • Support the team by owning cases and resolving aftersales issues.
  • Build and maintain good relationships with clients and key stakeholders.

Site management:

  • Ensure all method statements, programme of works and risk assessments are completed for each site.
  • Undertake pre-start and project sign-off meetings with client ensuring all the administration is completed and notes updated on our CRM system.
  • Liaise with the installation teams, making regular visits to site during build phases to monitor progress.
  • Resolve any issues on site and ensure snagging issues are dealt with swiftly ensuring timely resolution of aftersales cases.
  • Address on site issues promptly and make informed decisions regarding rectifications, prioritising the company’s best interest.
  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure high standards are met.

The ideal candidate will need:

  • Full UK Driving Licence
  • A can-do attitude
  • Extensive experience in project management within the construction industry, ideally within the playground industry (5+ years).
  • Experience working under CDM regulations.
  • The ability to multi-task and build positive relationships with colleagues, customers, suppliers, and contractors.
  • Experience of working with CAD layout plans and site ground levels.
  • Forward thinking, and ability to provide solutions to project challenges.
  • Preferably located within the Midlands region and willing to travel nationwide. However, if you have the relevant experience and are located outside this region, please do apply!
