Dean Castle Country Park is a fantastic free day out for families, the park boasts beautiful woodlands, an urban farm, 14th-century castle and a shop. The refurbishment of the play equipment was part of a larger scheme, for the extension and refurbishment of the visitor centre and rural life centre.
The design for Dean castle park was inspired by the 14th-century castle, the natural environment and its surroundings. Designing the play area on a hill required lots of drawings and model work, but does give the play area that WOW factor. The park revolves around the stunning bespoke ‘Adventure Keep’ at the top of the hill, featuring as the main attraction.
An inclusive approach was adopted for the design to enable every child a choice of play experiences, no matter what their ability.
