Every year millions of Londoners and tourists visit Hyde Park one of the capital’s famous eight Royal Parks. The South Carriage Drive playground sits on the boundary of Hyde Park, overlooking the sports fields and lakes. Because of it’s location this park is very popular and had become very worn. Jupiter Play were chosen to work together with the Landscape Architect at the Royal Parks to help restore the park back to an adventurous play area that would cater for the high footfall and designed with sensitivity to its surroundings.
The community were passionate about keeping a very natural feel to the area and that it should feel like an extension to the trees and the park. The natural choice was to use the FHS handcrafted timber robinia range which led to the development of a bespoke piece of equipment that was designed especially for this space.
