“It is lovely to see children having fun with the brand new play equipment in Leyton Square. I’m delighted that the council’s investment has secured the future of play here for generations to come.”

Leyton Square transformed into a brand new children’s playground.

The play area has long been valued by young people and parents in the neighbourhood, making the provision of a top-quality play facility was a priority for Southwark Council.

Leyton Square now offers adventure play opportunities for children of all ages and abilities. Boasting a range of new equipment including cradle swings and a crocodile springer for under-fives, and the star attraction, an elevated bespoke timber trail with interlinked climbing frame for older children.

FHS Robinia timber has been used throughout the playground to ensure top quality and longevity.

“Wow, a fantastic big playground, the highest swings I have ever seen and two big castle-like play units. The kids were very happy.” Nicola Gastaldi, Local Resident
