CANTLEY PARK INTERACTIVE PLAY SPACE
CANTLEY PARK INTERACTIVE PLAY SPACE CANTLEY PARK INTERACTIVE PLAY SPACE THE BRIEF: The council was committed to creating a new destination play area on site
The UK’s first fully funded interactive sports wall (Sutu) launched in Sheffield was installed on the 8th October, as part of a pilot project by Sport England and the Football Association.
Installed at the U-Mix Centre at Lowfield Park, the park provides a quality experience which encourages activity across all age ranges. Adding to this, the Sutu allows for accessible opportunities for all ages and abilities to have fun and get active. The launch was a part of a Black History Month football tournament, hosted by Sheffield United Community Foundation.
Despite the gloomy wet weather we have been having this month, the Sutu is getting lots of use, with statistics showing up to 9 hours of activity a day!

“I’m really impressed with the football wall, which combines fantastic technology with movement, a truly innovative conception for the digital world we are submersed in today. I’d like to thank all partners involved in making this happen and after seeing how much everyone has enjoyed it, I know it will be very popular amongst local people … This interactive wall is now part of the Sheffield football story, so I hope kids will come down and have a go at this fantastic interactive game.”
– Councillor Mary Lea, Cabinet Member for Culture, Parks and Leisure at Sheffield Council
